USAMRMC Inspector General (IG)

The Inspector General (IG) determines the state of economy, efficiency, discipline, morale, esprit de corps and readiness of units and personnel within the USA Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) and USA Garrison (USAG), Fort Detrick, MD. The IG is an extension of the commander; his or her eyes, ears and conscience, and a confidential advisor and fact finder. The full service IG Office provides the MRMC Commander and tenant commanders/directors a continuous objective assessment of the operational, administrative and logistical effectiveness of the command. The MRMC IG has direct access to the Commanding General and must be accessible to all MRMC subordinate commanders.

The IG's office reviews complaints and offers assistance to all Servicemembers, family members, civilians, Reservists, retirees, and private citizens. Complaint procedures are established to render assistance; report injustices affecting individuals; and eliminate fraud, waste, abuse, or other conditions detrimental to the military's efficiency or reputation.
